A body found July 6 in Taylor has been identified as Adrian Zachary, who was reported missing June 23.

On Monday, July 10, Taylor detectives received confirmation that the body found last is the Taylor man who has been missing since June 20.

Fingerprint comparison done by Hill Country Forensics matched the body to that of Adrian Zachary, 45, of Taylor. A final autopsy, including toxicology results, is still pending.

On Thursday, July 6, officers were called at 9:54 p.m. to the 600 block of Gravel Pit Road after a nearby property owner spotted an opening in the cornfield that appeared as if someone had entered it.

Preliminary indications have revealed no trauma and nothing suspicious was found at the scene, officers said.

For about three weeks, friends and family have searched for Zachary.

He was last seen leaving his residence in the 700 block of Mariposa Lane June 20, not far from Gravel Pit Road. Family members reported him missing June 23.

Team Texas K9s, a nonprofit organization that deploys to assist law enforcement, fire departments and other emergency service agencies with search and rescue operations, arrived July 1 with trained canines to search for Zachary in the heavily wooded area.

The cause and manner of death are still undetermined at this time.
