Taylor made kindness

To the kind lady with braces who helped me at the Walmart gas station, thank you. It’s trying times like these when random acts of kindness truly mean the most.

To the kind lady with braces who helped me at the Walmart gas station, thank you.

It’s trying times like these when random acts of kindness truly mean the most.

I was on my way home and needed to stop for some gas. Upon arriving at the gas station, I realized I left my card back at home. Unfortunately, I only had enough gas left to get home but not return.

Inside, I was told that they cannot do a manual card entry (I keep my card number memorized just for moments like this). So, I went back out to my car, visibly disgruntled, and began rummaging through my truck for any loose change.

As I was about to give up and begin making calls to find someone to come help, I was approached and asked if I had left my wallet. We had a brief exchange where I tried to decline her offer to help, but she was too persistent. I eventually gave in and let her put her card in my pump.

It truly is small actions such as this that have the biggest impact on someone. I was having a fairly rough day, and it was exactly what I needed to pick me up.

So, if you’re the kind lady who helped out a boy in jeans and a denim pearl snap at Walmart this evening, I can’t express my gratitude enough. If you’re not that lady, and just so happen to stumble upon this, please let it encourage something. Next time you see someone in need, even if it’s as simple as needing enough gas just to make it home, lend a hand. You never know how much of an impact you’ll have on them. Let’s keep the community aspect of our town alive.
