The Chamber is delighted to be a funding partner with the Greater Taylor Foundation, a local community foundation dedicated to uniting people who care with causes that matter.

As part of that partnership, I was by GTF Board Chair Diana Phillips and Vicar at St. James Episcopal Church Terry Pierce to attend a facilitator training.

The training was presented by the Episcopal HEalth Foundation, another GTF funding partner thanks to Pierce, and it was amazing!

I cannot tell you how excited we were to learn tools and techniques for bringing people together and involving them in the positive changes that GTF is going to bring to our community.

You might see some of that training in action if you attend one of our upcoming focus groups.

These groups are part of GTF’s IMPACT Taylor, a study of our community to examine its most pressing needs and, then, to address them.

There will be a drawing for $150 cash at each of the following events. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge to attend.

• Wednesday,July12, 6:30-8 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 110 W. Rio Grande

• Thursday,July13, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club, 2500 North Dr.

• Saturday,July15, 9-10:30 a.m. at The First Baptist Church, 300 N. Robinson St.
