GRANGER – Heading into his fourth year at the helm of the Lions’ football program, Granger High School varsity football head coach Stephen Brosch was honored in the 2023 issue of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine in the 40 Under 40 section along with the other best young coaches in the state.

After he graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2012, Brosch has spent his time at Granger continuing to improve Lions athletics.
Brosch was the defensive coordinator for the Lions for five seasons prior to his promotion to athletic director and head football coach in 2020.
He is also a proud 2008 Granger alumnus who was a four-year letterman on the football team as a wide receiver and safety, helping the Lions get as far as the state semifinals back in the 2007 season as a senior.
Brosch has done a magnificent job in his first three years as head coach of Granger with a 30-7 overall record, which included a superb 11-3 mark and a trip for the Lions to the 2A-2 regional finals last season.
The Lions had blowout playoff victories over Somerville High School, D’Hanis High School and Falls City High School before being eliminated by Burton High School in the 2022 regional finals.
Granger looks to repeat its success in 2023 when the Lions open the regular season at home on Friday, Aug. 25 against Hubbard High School.
