HUTTO – The 6U Taylor Ducks are making history and are headed to the Pony World Series in Youngsville, Louisiana.

The World Series will take the top 20 teams in the country and have them battle it out for the championship.

“These boys have been working hard and made it to the World Series! The excitement in the stadium was electric and the atmosphere was incredible in the Regional Championship,” said coach Louie Jahn.

The Ducks started off by winning the director’s tournament in Austin. They played Hutto in the championship and won with a score of 23-22. The next tournament was the Pony Sectionals tournament in Hays.

The Ducks fought hard and made it to the championship to face Hutto again and won 23-18.

After winning that tournament they took the top four teams to regionals as Taylor went undefeated in regional play in Hutto, facing the Hippos again in the championship.

Taylor Ducks 6U tee ball took Sunday’s game in dramatic fashion with a 32-31 walkoff victory against the 6U Hutto Allstars.

The game was tied at 31-31 with the Taylor Ducks batting in the bottom of the seventh inning when Azkiel Hargis singled on the first pitch of the atbat, scoring one run.

A five-run lead in the fifth inning was just enough for the Ducks to hold off Hutto for the victory, Hutto tallied 12 runs in the failed comeback.

After Hutto scored five runs in the top of the third, the Ducks answered with five of their own.

Cameron Ness doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat to score one run, Joseph Lichtor doubled on the first pitch of the atbat to score two runs, Ayden Kolb tripled on the first pitch of the at-bat to score one and Hargis homered on a 0-1 count for two runs.

The Ducks notched six runs in the sixth inning. Lichtor, Kolb, Hargis, Gavin Martinez and Kane Lopez all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Taylor smacked five home runs on the day. Martinez had a home run in the second inning. Ness went deep in the seventh inning and Hargis went for the long ball in the third, fifth and sixth innings.

The Ducks racked up 45 hits. Lopez, Hargis, Schwarz, Washington, Martinez, Ness, Jahn, Kolb, Lopez, Hilton and Anderson all collected multiple hits for the Ducks. Washington, Schwarz, Haris and Lichtor each collected five hits to lead Taylor.

The Ducks are coached by Louie Jahn, Jake Ness, Jeremy Lopez, and Peter Lichtor. Congratulations to Bryson Anderson, Azekiel Hargis, Brooks Hilton, Hudson Jahn, Ayden Kolb, Joseph Lichtor, Kane Lopez, Gavin Martinez, Cameron Ness, Zane Schwarz and Calan Washington.

“The players worked so hard all season and it is paying off,” said coach Jeremy Lopez. “It’s amazing to see how much dedication and teamwork can achieve. I’m so proud of them and can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish in the World Series Tournament,” said Coach Jeremy Lopez.
