Granger Farmer’s Market

The Granger Main Street Farmer’s Market meets every first and third Saturdays April through October from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of W. Davilla and Walton St., Granger. Fresh fruits, vegetables, jelly, canned and baked goods, eggs, artisan crafts and more are available.

Hutto Silos Farmer’s Market Year-round farmers market on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 420 U.S. 79, in the Hutto Co-Op District behind the Cotton Gin. Parking is in front of the Hutto City Hall. For more, call 512-846-3349.

Second Saturday

Every second Saturday of the month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities. The event is designed to encourage residents to become familiar with shops in the downtown area.

SPJST Lodge 29 Taylor

Every Friday, SPJST Lodge 29 hosts live music and dancing and serves hamburgers in its hall at 5025 FM 619. Bands play from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Admission is free. SPJST is a fraternal organization. Residents can purchase life insurance, annuities or other items to become a member of the SPJST.

The hall is open for business Wednesdays through Sundays from 3 to 10 p.m.

Weight-loss Group

The Taylor Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 1343 will have in-person meetings for their weight-loss support group Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. at Grace Place, 301 Grace Lane. Members are recommitting to their health journeys and invite others who have struggled with their weight to join them at the meeting. Attendees should use the office entrance to Grace Place.

Taylor Rotary Club Meals on Wheels

The Taylor Rotary Club delivers Meals on Wheels the third Thursday of the month at noon out of the Taylor Senior Center, Lone Star Circle of Care, 1301 W. Fourth St.

They serve Taylor and Thrall. Meals should be picked up between 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

American Legion Post 39

American Legion Graham D. Luhn Post 39 holds monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at its post building, 1310 Sycamore St., Murphy Park, Taylor. Veterans as well as American Legion members are invited to attend. For more, call 512-713-4543.

2023 Preserving History Award Soiree

Friday, June 16 — The Taylor Conservation & Heritage Society will be hosting an Award Soiree at the Black Sparrow from 5 to 8 p.m., 113 W. Second St. There will be a classic menu with an updated twist from Chef Peter L’Heureux.

Owner of the Black Sparrow Shannon Bagent will DJ old-time rags from 1910.

Hutto Fish Fry Fundraiser

Saturday, June 17 — From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hutto Lutheran Church will host a fish fry fundraiser at Fritz Park, 400 Park Avenue, Hutto. The money raised will go toward critical repairs for damage from Winter Storm Mara. There will be fried fish, family-friendly activities and a live and silent auction. Juneteenth Celebration

Saturday, June 17 and Monday, June 19 — The Taylor Juneteenth Committee presents the Juneteenth celebration in Taylor.

On Saturday, from 2 to 10 p.m., celebrate with a Freedom Festival at Fannie Robinson Park. The events will feature a gospel fest, live entertainment, children’s activities and more. On Monday, at 9 a.m., join the parade traveling south from Fifth and Main St., down MLK Boulevard to the Dickey-Givens Community Center. Stiles Farm Field Day

Tuesday, June 20 — At 5:30 p.m., community members are invited to Stiles Farm for a Field Day about the future of farming in the Texas Blackland prairie, 5700 FM 1603, Thrall. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. This will be a free event. Attendees will be treated to in-field discussions about what the farm is working on, followed by a free catered dinner with an awards ceremony and door prizes.

The 77th Annual Midsummer reunion

Thursday, June 22 — At 5:30 p.m., The Elgin Swedish Association’s 77th Annual Midsummer Reunion festival Elgin’s SPJST Hall, 702 State Hwy 95. Midsummer is the last remaining heritage festival hosted in Elgin. The event celebrates the longest day of the year and celebrates summertime as the season of fertility. The event will have traditional music acts, vendors and dances celebrating the heritage of Sweden. Thursday, June 22 – Saturday, June 24 — The Elgin Chamber of Commerce will host the 2023 Western Days homecoming celebration at Elgin Memorial Park, 1127 N. 8th Annual Chris Kelley Memorial 5K
