Mayor Brandt Rydell, Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles, US Congressman Pete Sessions and State Representative District 52 Caroline Harris were all on hand to grab shovels and officially start construction on Segment 2 of Samsung Highway.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place June 2, with spokespeople from Samsung, the engineers and other community members also present.
Samsung Highway is being completed in segments. Segment 1 is expected to be completed later this year, and will connect CR 404 to FM 973. Segment 2 will connect FM 3349 to CR 404 and is expected to be completed in late 2024.
The construction cost for Segment 2 is approximately $5.13 million and is funded by the 2019 voter-approved Williamson County Road Bond Program.
