6U Pirates finish season undefeated

The Taylor Area Baseball and Softball 6U Pittsburgh Pirates finished the season undefeated Saturday with a 19-17 win over the 6U Minnesota Twins. The game started off rocky with a triple play in the bottom of the first made by the Twins’ defense.

The Taylor Area Baseball and Softball 6U Pittsburgh Pirates finished the season undefeated Saturday with a 19-17 win over the 6U Minnesota Twins.

The game started off rocky with a triple play in the bottom of the first made by the Twins’ defense.

Cameron Ness and Zeke Hargis would lead the team with two home runs followed by a home run by Calan Washington.

Singles by Harper Scruggs, Kaleb Knapek, Brinley Pekar and Rayland Moore would help the Pirates get some runs on the board.

The Pirates would go into the bottom of the fifth down 17-13.

With time running out, Pekar would start the inning with a triple followed by a Hargis home run. Moore would come in clutch with a double followed by Hudson Jahn, Colin Lynch and Garryn Chandler singles.

With two outs on the board, the Pirates trailed 17-16. Ness would come up to the plate with two on to drive in the gamewinning runs with an inside-the-park homerun. Congratulations to the Pirates on their undefeated season!
