In typical fashion this weather season, Taylor residents should be prepared for summer one day and winter the next.
Temperatures are expected to reach the low 80s Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 21-22. However, highs on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 23-24, are expected to stay in the upper 40s. Rain is also in the forecast for most of the week.
“Weak disturbances and well-above normal temperatures Monday into Tuesday could lead to some isolated thunderstorms possibly along a dry line,” said the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio Office. A cold front arrives late Tuesday with a cold overrunning rainfall pattern forecast for Wednesday.”
After a pleasant Sunday, Feb. 20, temps should warm up to 81-82 degrees Monday and Thursday. Lows will go from around 63 degrees Monday to 39 degrees Tuesday when the cold front hits overnight.
Rain chances are 20-30% under mostly cloudy skies to start the work week. Monday is also expected to have winds at 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Wednesday will be much cooler with a high of 47 degrees and low around 32 degrees. Thursday has a high of 28 degrees but might dip to the upper 20s at night. Wednesday and Thursday’s rain chances are 40-50%.
The official weather forecasts don’t include winter precipitation. However, local meteorologists warned that some of their computer models suggested that a wintry mix was possible.
