Granger Farmer’s Market

The Granger Main Street Farmer’s Market meets every first and third Saturdays April through October from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of W. Davilla and Walton St., Granger. Fresh fruits, vegetables, jelly, canned and baked goods, eggs, artisan crafts and more are available.

Hutto Silos Farmer’s Market Year-round farmers market on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 420 U.S. 79, in the Hutto Co-Op District behind the Cotton Gin. Parking is in front of the Hutto City Hall. For more, call 512-846-3349.

Second Saturday

Every second Saturday of the month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities. The event is designed to encourage residents to become familiar with shops in the downtown area.

SPJST Lodge 29 Taylor

Every Friday, SPJST Lodge 29 hosts live music and dancing and serves hamburgers in its hall at 5025 FM 619. Bands play from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Admission is free. SPJST is a fraternal organization. Residents can purchase life insurance, annuities or other items to become a member of the SPJST.

The hall is open for business Wednesdays through Sundays from 3 to 10 p.m.

Weight-loss Group

The Taylor Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 1343 will have in-person meetings for their weight-loss support group Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. at Grace Place, 301 Grace Lane. Members are recommitting to their health journeys and invite others who have struggled with their weight to join them at the meeting. Attendees should use the office entrance to Grace Place.

Taylor Rotary Club Meals on Wheels The Taylor Rotary Club delivers Meals on Wheels the third Thursday of the month at noon out of the Taylor Senior Center, Lone Star Circle of Care, 1301 W. American Legion Post 39

Memorial Day Sunset Block Party Friday, May 26 — From 6 to 9 p.m., Hutto’s Municipal Government will host Hutto Parks and Recreation for a block party at Fritz Park, 400 Park St. The event will observe a remembrance ceremony in honor of Memorial Day. There will be food trucks, vendors, live music and familyfriendly activities.

Monday, May 29 — At 10 a.m. at the Murphy Park Pavillion, salute and honor the soldiers who fought for our freedoms today, 1600 Veterans Dr. The Central Texas United States Submarine Veterans will hold a “Tolling the Boats” ceremony and call the roll of shipmates. Award Soiree

Friday, June 16 — The Taylor Conservation & Heritage Society will be hosting an Award Soiree at the Black Sparrow from 5 to 8 p.m., 113 W. Second St. There will be a classic menu with an updated twist from Chef Peter L’Heureux. Owner of the Black Sparrow Shannon Bagent will DJ old-time rags from 1910.

Hutto Fish Fry Fundraiser

Saturday, June 17 — From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hutto Lutheran Church will host a fish fry fundraiser in Fritz Park, 400 Park Avenue, Hutto. The money raised will go toward critical repairs from freeze damage. There will be fried fish, family-friendly activities and a live and silent auction.

Juneteenth Celebration

This year, Taylor’s Juneteenth Committee presents a Juneteenth celebration Saturday, June 17 and Monday, June 19. On Saturday, from 2 to 10 p.m., there will be a Freedom Festival at Fannie Robinson Park with a gospel fest, live entertainment, children’s activities and more. On Monday, there will be a parade at 9 a.m. traveling south from Fifth and Main St., down to MLK Boulevard and to the Dickey Museum & Multipurpose Center, 260 S. 8th Annual Chris Kelley Memorial 5K Saturday, June 24 — From 8 to 10:30 a.m., stretch and set off on a 5k fundraiser that supports a scholarship program and donations to families of fallen or injured first responders and military personnel.
