Mother’s Day Out

Thursday, May 11 — At 9 a.m., First United Methodist Church will host a Morning with Mom event to honor mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers in preparation for Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14. There will be breakfast snacks, a time to share crafts and even photo opportunities.

Granger Lakefest & Homecoming

Thursday through Saturday, May 11–13 — The Granger Area Chamber of Commerce will host their 44th Annual Granger Lakefest and Homecoming at Granger City Park and its surrounding streets, 305 W. Davilla St., Granger. The weekend will be packed with activities.

To name a few, there will be a classic car show, a carnival and a washer tournament.

Mother and Son Darts and Lasers

Friday, May 12 — From 6 to 7:30 p.m., Hutto Parks and Recreation will host Games2U for a mother and son Nerf Gun and Laser Tag war for all ages at Fritz Park, 306 E. Live Oak St., Hutto. All equipment will be provided but personal nerf guns can be used for target practice on an archery mat. A food truck will be on sight for the event. Community Farmer’s & Flea Market

Saturday, May 13 — From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Davilla Community Center will host two markets at 20803 N. FM 487, Davilla. Vendors will sell market goods and dated treasures that are ready to pass on.

Soccer Mini-Pitch Grand Opening

Saturday, May 13 — From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Taylor Parks & Recreation, Soccer Assist and the Taylor Municipal Government will host the grand opening of the Murphy Park Mini-Pitch, 1600 Veterans Dr. A minipitch is a small soccer field with artificial turf. The field is approximately 50 x 100 feet.

End of the Year PlayDate

Rock the Arts Showcase

Saturday, May 20 — At 5 p.m., Taylor Pride will host their monthly movie youth meet up at Taylor Public Library, 801 Vance St. The movie is the award-winning film The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.

Sunset Block Party Bash

Friday, May 26 — From 6 to 9 p.m., Hutto’s Municipal Government will host Hutto Parks and Recreation for a block party at Fritz Park, 400 Park St. The event will observe a remembrance ceremony in honor of Memorial Day. There will be food trucks, vendors, live music and family-friendly activities.

2023 Movies in the Park

Friday, June 9, July 14, August 11 — Taylor Parks and Recreation Department will host movie nights in Heritage Square, 400 Main St.

The three movies will be chosen based on survey suggestions. Those who provide their suggestions by May 7 will be offered raffle prizes.

Hutto Fish Fry Fundraiser

Saturday, June 17 — From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hutto Lutheran Church will host a fish fry fundraiser in Fritz Park, 400 Park Avenue, Hutto. The money raised will go toward critical repairs from freeze damage. There will be fried fish, family-friendly activities and a live and silent auction. Taylor 4th of July Parade

Tuesday, July 4 — Join the Taylor American Legion Graham D. Luhn Post 39 for their fourth of July parade promptly starting at 9 a.m. at Old Taylor High, 410 W. Seventh St. The parade will end with the raising of the flag and an ice cream social at the American Legion Hall.
