BULLARD – After another outstanding track season, Jarvis Anderson is headed to the state meet looking to add more medals to his collection.

Anderson’s finishing in second place in his first at the regional meet, his performance solidified his spot at state.

Anderson started his day at the regional meet running in the 110-meter hurdles, where he would set his first record of the day. Anderson set a personal record running the race in 14 seconds earning second place.

Anderson was only two tenths of a second away from coming in first place, and it seemed like he took it personally as he finished first the rest of the day. Anderson’s next race was the 300 hurdles, and he took this race by storm.

Finishing the race in 37.60 seconds, Anderson crossed the finish line in first place, making him a qualifier for the race at state. This was also the only race that Anderson did not set a personal or state record but made up for it in the next two field events.

Anderson competed in the long jump, where he jumped 22 feet and eight inches, setting another personal record for himself.

Anderson would again take first place in this event, qualifying for the state meet and showing why he is one of the best athletes in the world. Anderson saved his best performance for last – the triple jump, which some consider his specialty.

He qualified for the state meet after earning first place, jumping 49 feet and three inches. This would be another record added to Anderson’s resume as it would be good enough to be a new state record.

Anderson will go on to state as the lone representative for the Ducks.
