HUTTO – Hutto Hippos senior Dylon Richardson’s phenomenal senior season continues as he has been named as a participant in the Cen-Tex All-Star Game Saturday, May 6.
Richardson was a big part of the Hippos success this past basketball season as a senior leader and has racked up plenty of other awards along with playing in the All-Star game.
The Hippos relied on Richardson on both ends of the floor and with his calm demeanor and unbelievable basketball talent, he was an easy person to follow.
Hippos head coach Gant Caraway would look to his senior leader throughout the season when the team needed a spark and knew how to get the best out of his star guard. Richardson led the Hippos in points averaging 15.9 a game, and he also led the team shooting 48% from the field but that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Richardson was also in the top three on the team in rebounds per game, assists per game, steals per game, blocks per game, free throws per game and threepoint field goal percentage. This would lead to Richardson making the first all-district team and being named the defensive player of the year for the district. He was also named to the Taylor Press All Centex East team this season.
Richardson was also nominated as the Austin Area player of the year only adding to his resume for his senior season. Richardson will have a chance to play in the All-Star game in front of scouts to continue his career at the next level and with his talent and resume he has a very good chance of accomplishing that goal.
The game will take place on Saturday, May 6, with a location to be announced.
