Janie Olguin, 61, of Georgetown, joined our Heavenly father, Friday, April 14, 2023, at 8:21 a.m. Janie was born April 23, 1961, in Taylor. If you knew Janie, you knew she was a Texas Longhorn football and Dallas Cowboys fan with Tony Romo being her all-time favorite. You could find her driving the streets of Taylor from Bartlett to Rockdale, meeting and making new friends everywhere she went.
She was always one to share what she could with you, even if that meant she went without. Unless it was her Bud Light, then you were sober and on your own.
She was a mother who loved and cared for you, no matter your current situation or mistakes. Janie was a sister, friend, partner in crime (if you need her to be) and the tiniest ball of fury if you ever made her mad. Her forgiveness was in the realm of sainthood, even if you didn’t deserve it. The next time you see her favorite Tweety bird, think of her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Caleb Villanueva; mother, Santos Lopez; father, Placido Olguin; and three sisters, Emily Olguin, Suzie Barerra and Jovita Olguin.
Janie is survived by her four children, Steve Villanueva III, Sandy Villanueva, Deborah Weideman and Abigail Villanueva. Her pride and joy were her 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, whom she loved and cared for with all her heart. She also leaves her brothers and sister, Alfonsa Flores, Rudy Olguin, Richard Olguin, Placido Olguin Jr., Raymond Olguin, Irma Olguin, Alice Cruz and Cecelia Alba.
Her viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m., April 20, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.
