One of the primary objectives of the Chamber is to stay informed on legislative business issues so our local business people can stick to working at their businesses.
We do that through our daily work with our strategic partners and by bringing people that our business people need to hear from to our area.
Our members get the benefits of that but to really get the most out of it, you need to come and hear so you can community directly with them or to us so we can do that on your behalf.
A few really important events are in the coming weeks as the legislative session comes to conclusion and plans are laid for future taxes that have a greater impact on businesses than on residents.
You can hear about economic development throughout the county, but with an emphasis on what’s going on in Taylor, since we are the epicenter of that activity, at a free Lunch and Learn next Wednesday.
You can find registration information on all of these events in our weekly newsletter or by calling or emailing us at info@taylorchamber. org and 512-352-6364.
Then, on May 18, we will partner with leaders in Manor and Elgin for the METT Business Summit. This event will be in Elgin and it will bring business and civic leaders together to discuss topics relating to the future of economic development in our area.
And, finally, the Chamber is hosting a Power Breakfast for local leaders Thursday, May 25, at Fifth and Vance.
This is a limited seating breakfast featuring Aaron Demerson who is the Texas Workforce Commissioner representing business for the State of Texas.
That event is being sponsored by Samsung and Fifth and Vance.
