Rosalinda “Rosie” Gamez, passed away Dec. 31, 2021. She was born Feb. 18,1965.
Rosie was a graduate of Taylor High School in Taylor and received her bachelor’s degree from St. Edwards University in Austin. She spent her career working for the state and was a retiree of the Texas Department of Transportation.
Rosie passed away after a long fight with cancer. She was a loving daughter, wonderful sister, amazing aunt and good friend. Her vivacious spirt will be missed by many.
Even though she was taken too soon, she lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored her. She was a lifelong animal lover and always had a pet dog by her side.
Rosie was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Gamez.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Gamez; brother, Al Gamez (Belinda); sisters, Liz Morales (Ben-D), Irene Martinez (Henry-D), Cissy Stalmach (Bruce), Joann Gamez and Carmen Morrill (Chuck); also numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand nephews.
The Gamez family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and medical staff at Texas Oncology for their tremendous care of Rosie through her fight with cancer.
Celebration of life will be held Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Due to the COVID-19 variant outbreaks, the family has requested to keep the service for Rosie private and amongst family members only with masks required, and live streaming will be available for friends and any family members who are unable to attend.
