Esther Yolanda Alcocer, of Taylor, passed away April 9, 2023. She was born on May 11, 1936.
Esther graduated from Taylor High School and attended The University of Texas at Austin. She worked at Goodfriends Department Store in Austin for 10 years, and 38 years in the Austin Independent School District as a financial technician.
She enjoyed shopping, watching Texas Longhorn sports and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. Her friends and family knew her for her wit, a keen fashion sense and her generosity. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Carmen O’Campo; siblings, Cecilia, Jose, Jesus, and Maria, husband Candelario (Candy); and beloved cat, Midnight.
Esther is survived by her nieces, Irene (Austin), Cynthia (Taylor), and Shirley (California); her nephews, David (Taylor), Danny (California), Christopher (Thorndale), Richard (Connecticut) and John (Taylor).
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 17, with Rosary at 7 p.m., at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd. NW in Taylor.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, April 18, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 111 W. Rio Grande St. in Taylor.
Burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, Old Cemetery Road in Taylor.
