HUTTO – Hutto Automotive Skills Students brought home top prizes from the SkillsUSA State Competition March 30. The competition focuses on excellence in various technical careers.
“Our students have been working hard in the automotive field and it's paying off,” said instructor Tony Martinez.
“Placing at state is a huge accomplishment,” said instructor Jeffrey Milam. “We had five competitors and three earned medals.”
Liz Salcedo won first place gold, state champion, Automotive Trade Tools ID Competition.
Aniya Sifuentes won second place silver, Automotive Trade Tools ID Competition.
Xander Vogel won second place silver, Automotive Job Skills Competition, with his demonstration on performing a disc brake job.
