Sormani leaving Hutto for Manor HUTTO – Dr. Robert Sormani, associate superintendent for instruction and innovation at Hutto Independent School District, has been named as the lone finalist in Manor ISD’s search for a new district superintendent.

Forty-eight candidates were considered for the position.

“I am honored to be able to return Manor ISD and serve this wonderful community again. I look forward to increasing the academic achievement to all of our students,” Sormani said.

Sormani is credited with helping create the Hutto Virtual Academy and a district-wide early literacy initiative.

“Dr. Robert Sormani has been an incredible, stabilizing leader in our district as the associate superintendent,” said Dr. Celina Estrada Thomas, Hutto ISD superintendent.

“Our district has grown tremendously under his leadership in terms of curriculum development, instructional programming and offerings for our students, and leadership development for the campus principals, assistant principals, and district leaders aspiring to be executive leaders. The systems he has created will sustain Hutto ISD for years to come.”

School Board President Billie Logiudice agreed that Sormani has been an exceptional asset to Hutto ISD.

“His innovative leadership, ability to galvanize a team and build capacity, with a focus on improving student achievement and balancing fast growth will be greatly missed throughout Hutto ISD.

Manor ISD, its staff, students and community stakeholders will be in good hands under his leadership,” Logiudice said.

Manor ISD board will hold a special meeting on April 28 to officially vote Sormani in as the new superintendent, and if approved, he will start his new position on May 1.
