The Taylor Area Businesswomen (TAB) group met Jan. 26 at Gattis Pizza in Taylor.
TAB’s board for the 2022 year are as follows:
• President – Charlotte Albert;
• Vice president – Regina Jo Carlson;
• Second vice president and publicity – Rosemary Schmidt;
• Treasurer – Sherr Alford; and
• Secretary – Betty Zimmerhanzel
President Charlotte Albert called the meeting to order and led the members in the opening prayer.
Albert welcomed Brenda Cox as a guest and new member. Brenda is with Hutto ISD
The pledge to the American Flag and Texas was led by Alford.
Zimmerhanzel read the minutes of the December meeting. They were approved as read by the president.
The treasurer’s report was given by Alford. Janis Jansky moved to approve the treasurers report
Motion was seconded by Diana Stone. Motion was approved
Scholarship balance was announced.
Albert mentioned that the officers met and decided that TAB’s annual fundraiser for local scholarships would be held on March 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. drive-thru at St. James Episcopal Church, located at 614 Davis St. The event will be catered by Captain Reds’ famous chicken fried steak dinner. Desserts will be available for a donation.
Carlson passed out tickets to sell. Chairman for the event is Deborah Parker.
Albert passed out signup sheets for TAB’s various committees.
In new business, Lacie Schernik obtained two volunteers to audit the books. Ann Glenn and Zimmerhanzel volunteered.
Door prizes were won by Jansky, Lisa Whisenant and Alford. Prizes were donated by Carlson. Whisenant will provide door prizes for the February meeting.
The next TAB meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 22, at noon. TAB luncheon meetings are typically held noon on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Gattis Pizza, located on Main Street in Taylor.
All current, former and interested businesswomen are invited to attend. Meals are $10
