For the second time this season, the Milano Lady Eagles spotted the Thrall Tigerettes (11-12-2 overall, 5-5 District 27-2A) a lead, only to storm back to get the win. On Saturday, Thrall built a 4-0 lead through three innings, but a five-run fifth gave Milano the lead and the Lady Eagles held on for a 6-4 win.

Thrall tallied one run in the bottom of the first. Mikayla Velesquez led off the inning with a single to left. With one out, Riley Luton lined a double to left to score Velesquez and stake the Tigerettes to a 1-0 lead.

In the third, the Tigerettes pushed across three more runs, all coming after two outs. Neveah Irvin singled and Luton drew a walk to put runners at first and second. Raelynn Johnson roped a triple to center, scoring both runners, making the score 3-0. A single by Ashlyn Jarosek brought home Johnson and the Tigerettes held a 4-0 advantage after three.

Milano finally got on the board with a solo homerun by Kylee Harris to trim the lead to 4-1 in the fourth inning. But, the one run was enough to start the momentum swing for the Lady Eagles as they headed into the fifth.

A single and a walk continued the momentum swing in the top of the fifth. But, the real damage came on four consecutive fielding errors by the Tigerettes that erased the 4-1 lead and turned it into a 6-4 deficit. Thrall managed to get a pair of runners on in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Milano was able to stop the rally and preserve the win.

Irvin and Johnson led the Tigerettes with a pair of hits each. Miley Pokorny took the loss, despite allowing just four hits through seven innings, as the errors proved costly for the Tigerettes.

Thrall now trails Granger by two games for fourth place in the district standings. The Tigerettes were to host Holland on Tuesday and will then will face a pair of the district front-runners in Thorndale and Bremond later in the week.
