The Junior Woman’s Study Club met on Thursday, March 9, at Texas Bay Seafood and Steak Restaurant with 22 members present along with a guest, Rhonda Redden.

Hostesses included Linda Kaderka, Gayle Daniel, Linda Looney, Dana Moehnke, and Stacy Roznovak.

Redden, recently elected Williamson County Justice of the Peace Pct.4, was the speaker. She is a seasoned professional in county and city government serving over 28 of her 31 years as a civilian in law enforcement. She has worked for the Hutto Police Department, the Bryan Police Department, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Department and the city of College Station.

The group learned about the wide range of duties required of the Justice of the Peace including managing juvenile cases, evictions, truancy, debt claims, crime scenes, marriage ceremonies and death cases, which require a high percentage of her work load. This list is not complete, but certainly brought the group to the realization that with this office comes a heavy responsibility.

Redden expressed her devout dedication to this office and her four-year term of service.

After a brief order of business led by president, Anne Wentrcek, the meeting was adjourned.
