“A Magical Spring Affair” coming up

Too busy to volunteer as a fairy godmother but still wish to support Cinderella’s Closet in their mission of assisting youths who would otherwise find it difficult to attend their high school prom due to the expense?

Too busy to volunteer as a fairy godmother but still wish to support Cinderella’s Closet in their mission of assisting youths who would otherwise find it difficult to attend their high school prom due to the expense?

Cinderella’s Closet will be hosting “A Magical Spring Affair,” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday April 22 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 23 at the Murphy Park Pavillion.

The event, which has free admission to attend, will feature handcrafted gifts, décor and culinary delights, organizers said.

“We have over 70 vendors coming from all over Texas, (even) from Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio,” said Cinderella’s Closet Founder Patrice Dempsy. “We have one fundraiser each year, and we depend on that fundraiser to pay our expenses for the entire year.”

Dempsey said this nonprofit organization only exists because of the tremendous support of the community.

“We have had such wonderful benefactors during our seven years,” Dempsey said. “We are only able to continue because taylor and the surrounding communities are so generous to us. I wouldn’t have been able to collect 1,300 prom dresses on my own. They are very, very supportive of everything that we do.”
