THRALL – Maverick McAllister and Jaden Rodriguez each knocked out three hits Saturday in leading the Thrall Tigers (11-5 overall, 3-3 District 27-2A) to 15-3 win over the Bremond Tigers.

The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning, when Bremond put a pair of runs on the board. Bremond made the most of a pair of hits off Thrall starting pitcher Anthony Sandoval to push two runs across and grab a 2-0 lead. The lead was short-lived as Thrall answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning.

With one out, Ty Bradford doubles to left and, McAllister followed with a single to center. Hayden Heselmeyer hit another single to center, scoring Bradford. Clark’s sacrifice fly pushed another run across, tying the score with two outs. But the Tigers were not finished. Carter Bradford’s double to right gave Thrall its first lead of the game, and back-toback singles by Rodriguez and Sandoval made the score 5-2 after three.

Bremond scored its final run in the top of the fourth inning off a pair of singles and a hit batter, but 5-3 would be as close as they would get. Thrall exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the game away.

With one out, Ty Bradford drew a walk and scored on McAllister’s triple to right. A walk put a pair of Tigers on base for Clark, who lined a double to left to push the Thrall lead to 8-3. Rodriguez followed with a two-run double, and Sandoval’s single to center made the score 11-3. But still, the Tigers weren’t done.

Now, looking at two outs, the Tigers went on one final run. With runners at the corners, Ty Bradford reached on an error that scored both Brady Burlison and Sandoval. McAllister hammered his second triple of the inning to score Ty Bradford, and Heselmeyer’s single down the third-base line brought home McAllister for the final fun of the game.

In addition to McAllister’s and Rodriguez’s combined six hits, Heselmeyer, Carter Bradford, and Sandoval each had two hits for Thrall. Sandoval also picked up the win, surrendering three runs on six hits over four innings of work.

The Tigers were back in action on Tuesday, when they traveled to Bartlett to face the Bulldogs. They will be back at home on Saturday, hosting the Chilton Pirates.
