When Gemini of Taylor offered employees the opportunity to make a donation to a local nonprofit, eight team members chose Taylor ISD Family Support Services as the recipient of the funds.
“One of our core values at Gemini is stewardship,” said Lee Perez. “We want to make sure we are good stewards of the communities where our plants are located.”
Perez said Gemini earmarks a portion of their profits every year for charitable contributions. Employees complete a request form indicating where they want the checks to go.
During the most recent contribution, eight checks totaling $1,750 were presented to John Matthews with Taylor ISD Family Support Services.
“This donation will help a lot of families,” said Matthews. “We buy emergency food for families, emergency clothes, shoes and many other necessities. We also provide activities like basketball in the park during June and July.”
