James Adolph Naizer, 81, of Clyde passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at his home.

James Adolph Naizer, 81, of Clyde passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at his home.

James was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Taylor, to Adolph and Beatrice (Bucek) Naizer.

His father passed away when he was young and his mother later married Alvin Rozacky.

James graduated from Taylor High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 until 1965. James married Mary Hanson Feb. 14, 1965, in Abilene. They moved to Clyde from Ingram in 1976.

He worked as a grocery store manager for many years. After retiring, he worked as a prison guard at the Middleton Unit. He was a member of the Clyde First Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Naizer, Beatrice and Alvin Rozacky; and his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Mary Evelyn Hanson.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Carol Naizer, of Clyde; two sons, Ronnie Naizer and wife Cara of Clyde, and Greg Naizer and wife Kelly of New Braunfels; daughter, Leann Downing and husband Trey of Abilene; one sister, Janie Limmer of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Jacob Downing, Osten Downing, Kellen Naizer and wife Kadie, Hayden Naizer and Stephen Perl, Kena Naizer and Reid Naizer.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.
