James Weaver has lived in Hutto for nine years. He is a retired manager at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and a Vietnam veteran. He previously served on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Weaver has been involved with numerous local nonprofits since his retirement, and established and led the Hutto Community Watch advocacy group.
Weaver’s leadership experience includes being president of an American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL–CIO) local in Seattle and serving on eight boards during his career.
“I am known for my Christian faith. I am known by my work with the Hutto Community Watch and my public statements at city council meetings. I am known for helping with tax issues, rides to doctor appointments and other social welfare activities,” Weaver said. “My philosophy is to serve. If something needs to be done, someone needs help, or I am asked to serve, I will do the best I can. I go where I am needed.”
