HUTTO – Seven candidates are hoping to win a spot in one of three city council seats when Hutto voters take to the polls in May.
Early voting runs from April 24 to May 2, with Election Day May 6. A general election will be held for Council Places 1 and 4, as well as a special election for the unexpired term of Council Place 5.
At Hutto Independent School District, no one filed to run against incumbents Felix Chavez and Shara Turner. Both filed for re-election, and will run unopposed.
City council Places 1 and 4 each have an incumbent and a challenger running. Council place 5 has no incumbent. Three candidates are running for this seat.
