THRALL – It only took three innings for the Thrall Tigerettes to take down the Chilton Pirates to capture their third win in district play.

On Thursday, March 16, the Tigerettes defeated the Pirates by a score of 18-3 as they move back into fourth place in the district.

On their home field, the Tigerettes used crowd noise to their advantage to throw off the Pirate batter’s timing. This helped the Tigerettes secure three outs quickly before jumping back on offense.

The crowd noise only grew louder the more comfortable the Tigerettes got on offense. They scored five runs in the bottom of the first to foreshadow a massive wave of Tigerette offense yet to come.

The Tigerettes’ defense would continue to work well with the crowd as every pitch, catch, strike, ball, pop-up or ground ball got a reaction from the crowd. This proved to be effective for the Tigerettes again because it again disrupted the Pirates’ rhythm on offense.

Keeping the Pirates scoreless and heading back on offense in the bottom of the second, the Tigerettes would again show off their offensive talent and depth. Every at-bat attempt for the Tigrettes had an athlete who could make a big offensive splash for them.

The Tigerettes extended their lead to 11- 0 after their offensive playmakers made plays and scored six runs. Heading into the third, Chilton knew they had to get something going if they wanted to stay alive in the game.

Their offense was finally able to find a rhythm and were able to put some runs on the board. The Pirates scored three runs in the top of the third, and with the Tigerettes heading back on offense they seemed unphased by it.

The Tigerettes started the bottom of the third on a mission to end the game. Scoring seven runs in the bottom of the third, the Tigerettes now had an 18-3 lead, and the game was called to complete their mission.
