THRALL – The Thrall Tigerettes basketball team put together a solid season making a playoff run before being knocked out by Big Sandy.
However, the Tigerettes showed that they may be a young group, but they are also loaded with talent on their roster.
Starting off with two freshmen, Kinley Hoffman and Nevaeh Irvin each took home an individual award. Hoffman was named the Sixth Woman of the Year for her efforts coming off the bench this season for the Tigerettes, as she helped the team keep their scoring pace when one of the starters were resting.
Irvin was named the Newcomer of the Year, which some thought was an obvious pick. Irvin, a freshman, has already established herself as a valuable scorer. She showcased some of her leadership skills this season making her valuable to the Tigerettes program moving forward.
Tigerettes on the first All-District team include senior Mirand Richter and freshman Cynthia Walker. Richter was a force for the Tigerettes inside the paint and dominated most of her matchups. This led to her not only being a reliable scorer for the Tigerettes, but also a defensive nightmare for opposing offenses.
Walker has shown she is part of the bigger picture for the future of the Tigerettes basketball team. Like Irvin, Walker faced the challenge of being a freshman on varsity establishing herself as being a big part of the team moving into the next season.
The second All-District team saw even more freshmen be honored from the Tigerettes as Brynn Leschber and Avery Ochoa were selected to the team. Both freshmen made impacts on the defensive end of the f loor for the Tigerettes helping them make the All-District team.
Their offensive ability to knock down big shots in big moments separated them, and solidified them on the All-District roster.
Senior Rachel Trussel and junior Ashlyn Jarosek were each honorable mentions for All-District team.
