The Livingston Fund was established as a result of a planned gift from the Livingston estate. The fund honors the memory of Leo L. Livingston, and grants from the fund benefit non-profit organizations in the Taylor community.

This legacy gift was established in November 2007 by Mrs. Livingston, with the assistance of her trusted friend and financial advisor, Ernie Wright, of College Station.

Mr. Livingston was a community servant and civic leader who loved Taylor. He served on the Johns Community Hospital board of directors for 21 years, 10 of which were in the capacity of board president. He is credited with having a major influence in getting the current facility built, both in fund raising and directing construction.

He served as president of the Chamber of Commerce, director of the Chamber’s Industrial Development and Greeters committees, and was also past member, director and president of the local Kiwanis Club and President of the Taylor Country Club. Mr. Livingston was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, serving in various volunteer capacities.
