Bonnie Burnett Whitlow, 96, of Taylor, passed away peacefully Feb. 24, 2023. She was born Aug. 31, 1926, in DeWitt, Arkansas, to Shelby and Mayme Burnett. She has now been reunited with her parents, siblings Lemuel, Gordon, and Maggie, husband Walter Whitlow, and daughter Tracy Dymowski.

Bonnie spent the last eight years in the Dallas area, to be closer to her daughter, Terry.

Bonnie graduated from De Witt High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers College for two years.

She married Walter Whitlow in 1948, and they made Texas their permanent home.

Bonnie worked many years as a paraprofessional for the Taylor Independent School District. She volunteered at the local hospital, thrift store and for whatever was needed at her church. She accompanied her husband Walter on most Taylor band trips and football games.

She enjoyed bowling, walking, biking, playing bridge, watching sports and rooting for her beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. She was blessed with wonderful friends that she enjoyed traveling with and sharing good times at movies and restaurants. Her keen sense of humor was still on display the day before she died as she waved good-bye to the caregivers at her residence and stated that she was “never coming back!”

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Terry Whitlow Kay (Edward) of Colleyville; grandson, Trevor Burnett Kay (Ashley) of Garland; granddaughter, Whitney Kay Hill (Stuart) of Buda; and great-grandson, Walter Hill of Buda. A private family celebration honored her life.
