An opportunity for job seekers and their potential employers comes to Taylor this month.
On Thursday, Feb. 24, businesses are invited to participate in the Taylor Business Fair at Fannie Robinson Park, 260 S. Dolan St. in Taylor, from 4 to 7 p.m. The event is also meant as a tribute to Black History Month.
The Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce and National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) Greater Austin Chapter are working together to establish opportunities for local businesses. Everyone – such as businesses, trade partners and suppliers – is welcome to attend, especially entities that are local or small from minorities or women.
NAMC was founded in 1969 and has chapters across the country actively supporting minority contractors and business operations. The NAMC Greater Austin Chapter was recently established and seeks new members and corporate sponsors.
The local chapter is looking for larger developers to meet their diversity requirements and connect with qualified local businesses. Its goals is to promote and facilitate networking, educational and job opportunities, as well as assist in the development of construction contractors. To achieve its goals, the chapter plans to collaborate with major corporate partners, strategic alliances and public agencies.
To RSVP a business, contact Rachel Westerman at the Chamber at 512-352-6364 or [email protected]. An Eventbrite RSVP is available at https://namcgreateraustin.eventbrite.com.
