United Seniors of Taylor Dominos

Anyone is welcome to play Dominos with the United Seniors of Taylor from 2 to 4 p.m. at Tripp Center, 1517 McLain St. Building C.

The group plays 42 and straight Dominos. For more information about the United Seniors of Taylor or Senior Dominos game time, leave a message for the organizer at (512) 914-1371.

Austin Polyphony Concert Join a musical journey through the church year with the Austin Polyphony Concert on Sunday, Feb. 26 starting at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption, 408 Washburn St. in Taylor.

Choral works from the Renaissance to the present will be featured. These works include Byrd, Tallis, Farrant, Handel, Bruckner, Faure, Vierne, Rutter and Rachmaninoff.

Led by Music Director Luciano Laurentiu and Organ and Guest Conductor David Stech.

Trades Day Career Fair

Wednesday, Mar. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be the Trades Day Career Fair at Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor.

This year they are expecting the largest group of students in the history of the Trades Day Career Fair. Almost 1000 students from Taylor, LaGrange, Thrall, Burnet, Granger, Thrall, Jarrell, Flatonia, Hutto and Austin have already registered for this event.

Businesses that are expected to attend include S&D Plumbing Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Primoris Services, EPCOR EMD Electronics KVAL Machinery, Baylor Scott & White, Tesla, GO Car Wash, Taylor Fire Department, R&D Molders, IBEW 520, Army National Guard and more.

Some interviews will be connected to scholarships given by the TSTC and Temple College. And many other businesses will conduct interviews for interns or for future jobs too.

OTH Kids Pop Up Event

Saturday, Feb. 25 — A pop up market featuring young entrepreneurs selling their handicrafts and other wares in the halls and out on the lawn at Old Taylor High, 410 W. Seventh St. will take place from 1 to 3 p.m.

Taylor Garden Center Ribbon Cutting Thursday, Mar. 2 — Join Taylor Garden Center at 5 p.m. in a ceremonial ribbon cutting for their business at 1902 W. 2 St. The center is a local nursery dedicated to hardy Texas plants, rare edible species, and top-quality gardening products.

Home Gardening Options Class Thursday, Mar. 2 — At 9:30 a.m., Inky Tatum and Monica Jarrell will instruct a Home Gardening Options class at Davilla Community Center, 20803 N. FM 487. For more information, contact Inky Tatum (254) 721-2922 or Monica Jarrel (409) 553-6886.

TBC Official Opening

Saturday, Mar. 4 — Starting at noon, TBC will host their new grand opening at W. 2nd St. in Taylor. Local musician, Brooke Graham, will be performing. The celebration will also include Texas Independence Day festivities.

Samsung Intern Applications Monday, Mar. 6 — Application deadline for Samsung Taylor Highschool Summer Interns. Interviews will occur Mar. 27 to Apr. 7 for a six-week internship from Jun. 12 to Jul. 21. Applicants will be contacted no later than the week of Apr. 24.
