Hannah and Peyton Wamble are one of the many sets of siblings to play on the same team together at Taylor High School.

The sisters have a bond that they described as being more than best friends, and it something they try to prove to each other every day.

“Since I am the big sister, I am very protective of her, so if anyone says anything to her, I definitely say something back,” Hannah said.

While Peyton wishes she could return the favor and stand up for her big sister, it is easier said than done.

“Nobody wants to mess with her,” Peyton said while laughing. “Nobody wants to mess with her at all.”

Their dad and Taylor High School Principal Matthew Wamble said he loves seeing his daughters fight for each other. He said it is a positive sign for the future when they are going to need each other.

“I love that they have each other’s backs. It shows me later on down the line that they are going to stick together no matter what happens,” Mr. Wamble said. “I can tell they really do love each other and as a dad it feels really good.”

Once place to see the duo together is on the volleyball court. Both are members of the Lady Duck varsity team. Hannah is a junior and her sister is a freshman, so they expect to have one more season together on the floor.

Peyton said her sister is the best mentor to have out there on the volleyball court because Hanna was always giving her new ways to improve and get better as she went through her first varsity season as a freshman.

“She is always showing me how to get better and most of the time it is just by watching her because she has played varsity and I learn so much just by watching,” Peyton said.

But like most siblings, the sisters have had their fair share of arguments, tiffs and fights. But the sisters always come back together to share a laugh no matter how bad they fight.

“We had one really big fight during practice one time,” Hannah said while laughing. “I threw a ball at her, and we just went at it. Coach Carr had to put us on opposite ends of the court for the rest of practice.”

“Oh, yeah she did chuck the ball at me, and it was annoying, but we laugh about it now,” Peyton said.

While fights happen between siblings the sisters said they consider one another to be their best friend. They know no matter how bad a fight gets, they can always go to each other in times of need.

“She’s like more than a best friend to me. She’s my sister,” Peyton said. “We went to different schools before coming to Taylor and ever since coming to Taylor and playing volleyball together we just got closer and closer.”

The sisters will get to have one more year to play together next season, which will be Hannah’s senior season and both said they aren’t taking the opportunity for granted.
