Harriet Carlene (Pearson) Kubala, 79, of Granger, passed away peacefully Feb. 12, 2023.
Harriet was born March 28, 1943, in Taylor, to the late Margaret Marie Pearson Weber and Harry Carl Pearson.
Harriet graduated from McCallum High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas-Austin and two Master’s in Education degrees from the University of Texas-Tyler. Harriet married Sidney Kubala Dec. 3, 1960, and they were married for 62 years.
Harriet was a caring and dedicated educator who touched the lives of so many. She worked as an elementary school teacher, vice principal, and principal for over 40 years.
Harriet enjoyed many activities such as flower gardening and bible study. She also volunteered at the Granger Food Pantry for many years.
In addition to her parents, Harriet was preceded in death by son, Barry Kubala; stepfather, Lonnie Weber; and sister, Ann Myer.
Harriet is survived by husband, Sidney; son, Wayne Kubala and wife Misty; brother, JB Pearson and wife Joan; sister-in-law, Delores Kubala; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
A funeral service for Harriet will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Brethren Church in Taylor. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. John Pearson, Jeff Pearson, Lin Davis, Jeffrey Davis, Josh Pearson, and Jake Pearson will serve as pallbearers.

Harriet’s family wishes to thank the nursing staff of Seton Ascension Hospital in Round Rock and in particular nurse Heather Pogorzelski who went above and beyond for her care.
