Lady Dawgs end Granger’s season

The Granger Lady Lions season concluded on the road against Thorndale last Tuesday as the 9-1 Lady Dawgs defeated Granger 78-23. The contest was all Thorndale from the start of the contest.

The Granger Lady Lions season concluded on the road against Thorndale last Tuesday as the 9-1 Lady Dawgs defeated Granger 78-23.

The contest was all Thorndale from the start of the contest. The Lady Lions were unable to score more than six points in any quarter while Thorndale’s offense averaged almost 20 per quarter.

Thorndale dropped 19 points in the opening eight minutes to lead granger 19-7. The Lady Dawgs offense continued to roll in the second quarter once again putting up 19 points and defensively holding the Lady Lions to four points.

Heading into the sec ond half with a 27-point advantage Thorndale dropped 25 points in the third quarter extending their lead after three to 63-17. In the final quarter Thorndale added 15 points and held the Lady Lions to six points to close out the contest.

Bright spots for the Lady Lions included outrebounding Thorndale 38-29 and they also connected on 75% of their shots from the charity stripe.

Senior, Amayah Simien, Playing in her final game as a Lady Lion, led Granger in scoring with 12 points. Freshman Marissa Hall led Granger with 11 total rebounds against Thorndale. Elizabeth Martinez added four points for the Lady Lions.

Abigail Dickerson led Thorndale with 27 points.
