Due to determinations from city and county emergency management personnel, Mayor Brandt Rydell has issued a disaster declaration in the City of Taylor.
“This will free up resources for the city as we recover from the storm,” according to the city’s communications department.
The city’s public works department is continuing to clear away downed tree limbs throughout the city.
“They are working as quickly as they can and ask for your patience as they make their way through many reports,” city officials said. “If a downed limb is creating a hazard, blocking a roadway, or endangering human life, please call 911 to report it.”
To expedite the recovery effort, the city is allowing residents to complete unpermitted repairs on their property.
