More details released on Chandler Road accident

An overturned tanker has caused a hazmat situation on Chandler Road.

A two-vehicle accident in the 1200 block of Chandler Road has caused a hazmat situation that may take some time to clean up, according to officials.

“We do know it involves two vehicles, one of which was a fuel tanker truck,” said Gracie Perez, the public information officer for the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. “They are anticipating there to be an extended period of time for them to do the cleanup.”

A section of Chandler Road between County Road 101 and County Road 366 is closed due to a an overturned tanker.

Officials at the scene said it was a hazmat situation because the tanker was leaking fuel.

Perez said there was no information yet regarding injuries.

Alternate routes are available via 101 and 366. There is no timetable for when the roads are expected to reopen.
