Patricia Ann Reichenbach, 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, following a brief battle with gallbladder cancer after being diagnosed in November 2022.

Pat was born May 28, 1951 in Taylor, the daughter of Wilbert Otto “W.O.”

Reichenbach and Velma Hurta Reichenbach.

She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor. Pat and her five siblings were well known in and around Taylor as they worked shifts at Reichenbach Grocery, traveled central Texas as the Reichenbach boys played baseball and Pat sparkled as a twirler for the Taylor High School Band.

Pat left Taylor to earn her Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas.

She proceeded to live in Oxford, Boston, Seattle and California, before making her way back to central Texas in the early 2000s.

Pat spent years as an English teacher, but ultimately retired from the University of Texas School of Information after having worked in both their career services and accounting departments. While she enjoyed the opportunity to continue to learn and grow through career opportunities, Pat’s primary joy was always her children and grandchildren. Spending over a decade as a stay-athome mom, she relished in teaching her children, raising them in the Lutheran faith, serving on the PTA at her kids’ schools and teaching Sunday School.

Pat reveled in any chance to spend time with her family. She would seldom take a day off of work for herself, but would happily take PTO to watch a grandbaby. Pat filled her time playing dominoes (42), a variety of board games with her hyper-competitive children, cheering on the Longhorns, and spending time with her dogs and granddogs.

One of her highlights of returning to Texas was sharing in the annual Reichenbach Family Thanksgiving gatherings. She also celebrated that three of her four children became Longhorns themselves, and have a friendly rivalry with the Red Raider in the bunch.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, W.O. and Velma Reichenbach; and her sister, Linda [Reichenbach] Reid.

She is survived by her brothers, Roy (Mary) Reichenbach, Don Reichenbach, Mickey (Diane) Reichenbach, Kelly (Earline) Reichenbach; her children, Raeann (Josh) Fagan and kids Avery, Jackson; Wade (Casey) Murray son Jake; Leigh (Drew) Ingram kids Lily, Derek; Walter (Alisha) Murray; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan.

21, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Georgetown. Services entrusted to Weed-Corley Fish Funeral Home.
