HUTTO - In an emotionally-charged meeting Thursday night, the Hutto Independent School District board of trustees responded to allegations from Hutto city council that city regulations were not being followed in construction projects on the high school.
While assuring that the district has and will continue working closely with city staff, Assistant Superintendent of Operations Henry Gideon, pointed out to the board of trustees that there are no legal grounds for complying with the new requests of city council, but that the district is willing to comply in order to continue moving forward.
Gideon said the new requirements would set the construction back as much as a month and a half, resulting in additional charges and disruption in instruction that will impact the band going into marching season.
