Fatal collision at 79 and Limmer Loop

A fatal collision occurred at 8:55 a.m. Friday, Dec.

A fatal collision occurred at 8:55 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at the intersection of U.S. 79 and Limmer Loop, the Williamson County Sherrif’s office has confirmed.

“It was a multivehicle accident that was a fatality, but we don’t have any (other) information on it,” said Deputy Christopher Pisa.

Though multiple agencies were involved, including the Hutto Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office, Pisa said the Texas Department of Public Safety is handling the investigation.

On the Taylor TX Community Watch Facebook page, several commentors reacted to news of the accident with frustration about the intersection, saying that a light is needed. One commenter wrote that “18 wheelers are pulling across 79, without stopping. I have seen two accidents and several close calls since the road construction started.” Another said, “Is there absolutely nothing that can prevent these tragic accidents on this road…How many lives need to be claimed?”

As of press time, DPS did not provide details regarding the accident.
