First ever East Cen-Tex team

The first ever East All Cen-Tex team selections have been made based on selections from local journalists around the area. These players all had outstanding seasons and made big contributions to their team’s success this season.

The first ever East All Cen-Tex team selections have been made based on selections from local journalists around the area.

These players all had outstanding seasons and made big contributions to their team’s success this season. The players that were selected for the team will receive a certificate and a coin solidifying their spot on the team.

Before listing the players on the team, three individual awards are going to be given away to the Offensive and Defensive MVPs and the Under the Radar player.

Thorndale quarterback, Coy Stutts, was selected as the Offensive MVP after completing 103 of 188 passes for 2,162 yards, 21 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. Stutts also contributed to the offense in the running game with 1,155 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns.

Hutto linebacker, Jaylen Parkinson, was selected as the Defensive MVP after having 109 tackles along with four and a half sacks. Parkinson led the team in sacks and also led the team with eight quarterback hurries and was a force on defense flying around the field every game he played.

Taylor running back, Andrias “Tutu” Fisher, was selected for the last individual award, the Under the Radar player. As a sophomore in 2022, Fisher took over the starting role on the varsity team early and took advantage of his opportunity.

Fisher carried the ball 166 times in 2022 rushing for 1,036 yards averaging six yards each carry and scoring 10 touchdowns.

Starting off the roster of the East Cen-Tex team will be the offensive players and the names are not ranked but in alphabetical order. Players selected for top honors are not rostered.

Chase Edwards (Granger) 17 punts, 629 yards (average of 37 yards), longest punt was 73 yards

Kicker:

Timothy Hollenbeck (Hutto) 19 kickoffs, 10 touchbacks, made 32 points after touchdowns on 34 attempts and made 6 of 11 field goals with the longest being 52 yards Congratulations to all the players selected to the first ever East Cen-Tex team in 2022.
