Taylor baseball coach Justin Adams will be spending his summer in the great northwest as he has accepted a position to manage the Dub Sea Fishsticks collegiate summer team (Wood Bat League). The Fishsticks will play in the Pacific International League, in West Seattle, WA and were formerly named the Highline Bears. The team was renamed on Dec. 2, 2021.

Coach Adams will report to them either once his contract for the current school year is up, or after the Ducks season has concluded.

“My family and I are so excited to have the opportunity to use the game of baseball to experience a new part of the country, and to expand my baseball network,” said Coach Adams.

His duties with the team will include serving as the field manager for the 2022 summer season and recruiting coordinator of collegiate players from across the country. The Fishsticks will play a 50-game schedule, and will travel throughout Washington, Oregon, and into Canada.

“In my eyes, there are only positives that can come from this opportunity, which in the future, could lead to opportunities for our players here in Taylor as well,” said Adams. “Professionally, I am excited about the opportunity to experience the nuances of managing the collegiate game and bringing those experiences back with me.”

To make things clear, Coach Adams is not leaving the Taylor program permanently.

“For now, I am looking forward to a strong season this year from the Ducks,” said Adams. “We have so many exciting things going on in our baseball program and have high expectations for the product we intend to deliver.”

Last season Taylor finished 21-10 and brought home the bidistrict title before being eliminated in the playoffs by China Spring.
