While we had quite a few controversies going on last week, we had also lots of shoutouts.
I’m going to combine a few of my good news experiences lately.
“First, I want to say, I absolutely adore Chicken Express! It is the only chicken place that I go to these days and reasons are: #1 spicy chicken. So very delicious. And, the girl who works the drivethru window, I don’t know her name, she’s always there when I go there, she always asks for your name and then she greets you with it and is just really polite.
So, super good experience every single time I go to there.
Second is H-E-B. Last month has been spot on number one customer service from the cashiers to the people stocking, especially the produce, and the customer counter. I had to go there recently to get a money order. The lady was super polite and patient.
I wish I could remember her name too but anyways I just wanted to say there was goodness and kindness all around.
When I was at Whataburger, the line was crazy long. All I wanted was a soda. The girl came out with my drink right away and I was in and out of that drive-thru line in less than three minutes. It was such a good experience, and I just gave her all the change.
Spreading kindness matters.”

“Last night, I was in downtown Taylor to help out with the tree lighting, and I witnessed the true meaning of the Christmas season. A high schooler who was volunteering had gotten soaked carrying in water for the hot cocoa station. I overheard the boy asking if any of the shops nearby were open so he could buy a dry shirt (unlikely since the parade was about to start). Haciendo Coffee had a table there and generously gave the boy one of the shirts they were selling. It was so kind, it brought tears to my eyes. Also, the coffee was amazing. I’ll be buying more from them in the future.”

“I got tickets for the Holiday Home Tour for myself, daughter and daughter-in-law. My daughter-in-law forgot hers at home. We were going to drive to her house in Pflugerville to get it and then decided to make our first stop and see if they would honor her photo of the ticket. The nice woman at St. James gave her another ticket. Shout out to the wonderful quilting guild and ladies there at the church.
It was a wonderful tour of beautiful homes.
We also toured the Moody Museum. A lot of great history and knowledgeable and friendly folks here in Taylor. Love my little town.”
