Robert “Bob” Lee Swartz

Robert “Bob” Lee Swartz, 73, of Taylor, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at his home. Bob was born in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Riley Dale Swartz and Dixie Grace (Koontz) Swartz.

Robert “Bob” Lee Swartz, 73, of Taylor, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at his home. Bob was born in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Riley Dale Swartz and Dixie Grace (Koontz) Swartz.

A 1966 graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Bob retired from the United States Air Force after more than 20 years of service. He was chosen as the Honor Grad at the 21st Air Force NCO Leadership School at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. While attending West Virginia University he was a member of the ROTC program which earned him his Commission upon graduation. he had a passion for his performance Mustang cars and attended two racing track schools sponsored by Ford Racing.

He was also an avid sportsman whit vast firearm knowledge and also attended a Civilian Marksmanship Program school only open to selected individuals.

Bob is survived by his wife, Deloris Gene Swartz; sister, Patricia Ann Swartz; daughter, Sue Ann Scalph; son, Adam Wayne Swartz; grandchildren, Jacqueline Grace Scalph, John Colten Scalph, Michael Riley Swartz, Luke Jameson Swartz; nephew, Ryan (Diana) Durfee; and many cousins.
