The business formerly known as the Hangout Pinball Lounge, located in room 102 of Old Taylor High, 410 W 7th St Room, is reopening this Friday, Dec. 9 as Study Hall Pinball Arcade.
“We are moving it to a card-scan system,” said OTH co-owner Kaitlin Olle, who recently purchased the business with her husband. “It’s kind of like they have at Mr. Gattis.”
The new electronic system will enable the duo to keep the arcade open whenever Old Taylor High is open, which is between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week.
Olle said the expanded hours are due to the card-system not requiring designated staff, as individuals can load up the cards to play by themselves.
“It will be always open, always available for people to come and play,” Olle said.
In addition, whereas before the lounge focused almost exclusively on pinball, the pair are widening their focus, Olle said.
“We are going to be bringing in like ten more arcade games like claw machines and different kinds of games,” Olle said. “It will be a game room.”
