LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To whom it may concern, This parade fiasco could have been easily avoided if Santa on the PRIDE float would have worn a simple pair of pants. When I lived in Bastrop, and people from a group in the parade were drunk, making inappropriate comments and generally displaying adult bad behavior, they were not allowed to participate the following year. Their bad behavior had consequences. This Taylor Parade thing is exactly the same. Santa wore a thong, not pants.

This was adult and inappropriate. Therefore, the rules of expectations were clarified by parade officials. For anyone to say they are being excluded is ridiculous. I even heard the PRIDE group wasn’t told they could not participate, but the truth is that they chose not to participate in the Taylor Parade of Lights. Therefore, by going to the city and claiming exclusion THEY have caused division in our city. One parade. The original Taylor Parade of Lights. Ken Parker Taylor, TX
