Hutto Silos Farmers Market

Granger Farmers Market
Fresh fruits, vegetables, jelly, canned and baked goods, eggs, artisan crafts and more will be at the Granger Main Street Farmers Market on the first and third Saturdays from April through October from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of W. Davilla and Walton streets in Granger.
Third Thursday
Every third Thursday of the month, Taylor’s downtown businesses will be open past 5 until 8 p.m. and offer in-store specials, live music, door prizes and other activities. The event is designed to encourage residents to shop locally and become familiar with the shops in the downtown area.

The Friends of the Taylor Public Library group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the library’s board room at 801 Vance St. in Taylor.

SPJST Lodge 29 Taylor
Every Friday, SPJST Lodge 29 hosts live music and dancing and serves hamburgers at its hall at 5025 FM 619 in Taylor.

SPJST is a fraternal organization. Residents can purchase life insurance, annuities or other items in order to become a member of the SPJST. The hall is open for business Wednesdays through Sundays from 3 to 10 p.m.

The Taylor Area Businesswomen’s (TAB) luncheon meetings are held at noon on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Gatti’s Pizza, 2708 N. Main St. in Taylor. All current, former and interested businesswomen are invited to attend. Meals are $10.

Sunday, Dec. 4 — Libros Book Mobile and Wilco Art Lab are hosting a free party from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Loose Screw at Old Taylor High, 410 W Seventh St. in Taylor.
Participants will be able to select a beautiful used book and wrap it as a gift for someone with wrapping paper, ribbon and even little embellishments donated from the art lab. Though the event is free, donations will be accepted, and the limit is two book gifts per person.

Hippos Are My Heroes Book Signing
Monday, Dec. 5 — at 4:30 p.m., author Iris Shay Reese will be in town to introduce her newest book “Hippos are my Heroes,” a story about the Hutto’s Hippo history at the Rio Grande Tex-Mex Restaurant, 551 Ed Schmidt Blvd. Other signings will take place on Tuesday Dec. 6 as well, including at 11 a.m. at Hutto Public Library, 500 W. Live Oak St., at 1 p.m. at Snuffy’s Bar and Grill, 204 Hwy 79 and at 6 p.m. at Christ the Rock Church, 3250 Limmer Loop. These book signing events are free.
2022 Granger Hometown Christmas
Thursday, Dec.8 — From 6 to 9 p.m. enjoy the festivities at 104 S.
Walton St., including the lighting of Granger’s 25-foot string-light Christmas tree, as well as festive food, crafts, artisans and vendors and a visit from Santa. This is one of the many and most beloved events produced by the Granger Main Street Board as it is designed to assist its Purple Santa program with new toy donations for the children of Granger.
Loud & Gaudy Ugly Sweater Party
Friday, Dec. 9 — Wilco Art Lab will host an ugly sweater party from 6 to 9 p.m. at the studio, located on the second floor of Old Taylor High, 410 W Seventh St. There will be an ornament making station for $5 for all ages, a free letter to Santa station, plus a contest with prizes for the ugliest, most creative, most festive, cutest, funniest and best couple sweaters. In addition, the lab will be collecting teddy bears to be donated to Taylor Police Department to give to kids they encounter on duty.
