HUTTO – Four unique holiday events are on tap for the historic downtown as Holidays in Hutto returns this winter. The festive fun begins with Shop Small Saturday and the Downtown Tree Lighting Saturday, Nov.

26. Next up, the soldout Santa Claus Crawl is Saturday, Dec. 3. Finally, the Downtown Christmas Fair is Saturday, Dec. 10.

Shop Small Saturday

Shop Small Saturday, Saturday, Nov. 26, encourages the community to kick off their holiday shopping by supporting small, locally-owned businesses.

Hutto small businesses will be open including in historic downtown, with holiday items and special discounts. Shoppers can enjoy a home-based popup market at One Eleven East from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a variety of local, home-based vendors.

During Shop Small Saturday, the Hutto Police Department will partner with Humane Educators of Texas to provide free pet microchipping, rabies vaccines and city registrations. The free service will be provided from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until supplies last, at a booth located near Henrietta Hippo in downtown. No appointment is necessary, but proof of Hutto residency will be required. This is a first come, first served event.

Downtown Tree Lighting

The evening of Nov. 26 concludes with the annual Downtown Tree lighting from 5 to 8 p.m.

The free event includes kids crafts and letters to Santa, entertainment provided by the Farley Band, Hutto Choir, Hi Steppers Dance and more, and an appearance from the big man himself, Santa. The official Hutto tree lighting ceremony will take place at approximately 8 p.m.

Santa Claus Crawl

The sixth annual Santa Claus Crawl sold out in record time this season as the event continues to grow in popularity. Although the official ticketed event is sold out, the community is still invited to join in the 21 and older fun in downtown Saturday, Dec. 3. Select downtown bars, restaurants and storefronts will be open and offering holiday specials outside of the ticketed event, so everyone can still join in on the festivities. Be sure to check out the fan-favorite costume contest at The Downtown Hall of Fame.

Downtown Christmas Fair

Finally, the Downtown Christmas Fair returns after a two-year hiatus.

With the return of the Downtown Christmas Fair comes the return of snow to Hutto. On Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this good old fashioned Christmas event sees the streets of downtown fill up with over 100 artisans and craft vendors, food offerings, live entertainment, children’s activities and snow. A variety of downtown Hutto businesses will also be open throughout the day with Christmas Fair specials.

And most importantly, Santa will make another appearance.

Guests will once again dress up and stroll through downtown as a part of the Hutto Santa Claus Crawl. This year’s event sold out in record time.
